Keen Wallace Sewell fans will recognise the fabric featured in our newest range of beautiful yet practical accessories: last year we partnered with the leading American contract fabric design company Designtex to create 'Cubitt', a collection of fabrics originally for use on furniture. We love this range so much we wanted to bring it to a wider audience, with more accessible products for all.

During this project we really focused on the little details and spent time finding the best company to manufacture these new items in a responsible way within the UK.

We design all of our products with longevity in mind, so not only should they look and feel good, they need to last. These accessories are everyday items and high use is to be expected: the upholstery fabric was designed with this in mind and we have used the finest full-grain leather for the zip pulls and the tote bag handles. Full-grain is the strongest and most durable leather, plus it is naturally moisture-resistant and develops a beautiful patina with age. All the leather components in this range have been hand-cut by a London-based studio. The collection features a coin purse, a pencil case, a makeup pouch, a toiletry bag and a tote bag, each in a choice of 2 colour palettes.

These new products have been manufactured for us by a Social Enterprise called Kalopsia Collective, who have devised 'Assemble', an innovative circular business model which enables them to sustainably produce items for clients, while minimising the negative impacts that can arise in a traditional linear model. Their design philosophy is very in keeping with our own: keep it simple, design for longevity not just for a season and let the fabric be the focus. 

As a Social Enterprise, Kalopsia's main purpose is to maximise the amount of social good they create, whilst balancing this against financial goals. They reinvest their profits back into the business, but also the textiles community as a whole and hope to be an inspirational model for others to follow.
