Wallace Sewell revisited Harriet’s Royal College of Art collection of oversized, asymmetric checks for this range of interior fabrics. They combined this with the stripe and colour block patterning for which they are known in their scarf collections. Then, they scaled this up by ‘x10’ to create a collection of striking interior fabrics. On the strength of those original designs, Wallace Sewell were invited to be guest designers for Designtex (a New York-based, contract furnishing company, affiliated to Steelcase). Emma and Harriet took these patterns and translated them into wool suitable for the contract upholstery market. www.designtex.com
