Sustainability has always been woven into the fabric of Wallace Sewell.
From day one, we’ve believed that thoughtful design and responsible manufacturing can, and must, go hand in hand. In an industry facing a global textile waste crisis, we’re committed to doing things differently: designing with longevity in mind, minimising waste at every stage, and manufacturing exclusively in the UK to reduce our environmental footprint and support local industry.
Circular design is at the heart of our practice: a principle that Emma explored in her RCA thesis, and which continues to guide everything we make. Whether it's using common warps across collections, weaving to order to minimise deadstock, or finding creative new uses for our smallest offcuts, we’re always looking for ways to do more with less. Because we believe sustainability isn’t a trend – it’s a responsibility.
