At Wallace Sewell, we love collaborating with retail brands to create exclusive designs that elevate their collections. From crafting vintage-inspired lambswool Block throws for Pierce & Ward in Los Angeles, to designing a silk scarf for Persephone Books featuring a unique painting by Emma Sewell, our retail collaborations are as diverse as they are distinctive.

Alexandra Tolstoy - Bespoke Throws

These jacquard throws were designed with Alexandra Tolstoy, and inspired by the traditional Kyrgyzstan shyr dak rugs used to line yurts, the design was scaled up to create a modern abstract design.

Woven in recycled wool at a family-owned weaving mill in Lancashire which has been in operation since 1871, the throws are carefully felted to echo the material of the original shyr daks - finished with a green blanket stitch.

Daniel Hanson - Dressing Gowns

A limited-edition collaboration with Daniel Hanson, celebrating British craft and luxury loungewear. Featuring tailored silk and lambswool dressing gowns and coordinating sleep masks, handmade in Nottingham from Wallace Sewell’s signature pure silk fabric and iconic Honeycomb collection.

Pierce & Ward - Bespoke Throws

Pierce & Ward is a celebrated American interior design studio known for their unique blend of vintage charm, modern elegance, and the ability to transform a space into one that feels like home. Shopping at Pierce & Ward in Los Angeles is like stepping inside of one of their interior design projects: everywhere you look there is something special to see. From antique American folk art mirrors to special furniture pieces restored or hand made in LA, no two visits feel the same. When they approached us to discuss a bespoke project, we jumped at the chance! Our lambswool Block throws have been woven with four new colourways, using a muted palette of popular vintage-inspired Pierce and Ward colours.

Persephone Books - Bespoke Silk Scarf

Wallace Sewell collaborated with Persephone Books to create an exclusive silk scarf for the Persephone Festival in April 2024. Inspired by one of Wallace Sewell’s iconic woven patterns, the design was reimagined as a delicate hand-painted watercolor composition by Emma Sewell. Crafted from lightweight crepe de chine, the scarf offers a luxurious drape and elegant finish.

Selvedge Magazine - Bespoke Throw

In 2021, Selvedge reached out to the design team at Wallace Sewell to create a bespoke throw inspired by their signature Block design. Using the lambswool 'Block throw' collection as a foundation, the bespoke design for Selvedge incorporated their iconic grey branding, complemented by a vibrant rainbow of colours. This palette mirrored the diverse textiles showcased in their magazines, celebrating the richness and variety of the textile world.

The resulting throw not only highlighted the elegance of Selvedge’s aesthetic but also showcased Wallace Sewell's commitment to quality craftsmanship and innovative design. This collaboration exemplified the synergy between both brands, merging Wallace Sewell's distinctive style with Selvedge's passion for textile heritage, ultimately creating a beautiful and unique addition to any home.

Tamsin Howells - Acrylic Jewellery

We were delighted to collaborate with jewellery designer Tamsin Howells, who's work transforms recycled and repurposed materials into striking, story-filled pieces. Tamsin hand-makes each item using acrylic to encapsulate materials such as vintage clothing, sweet wrappers, sewing patterns, stamps and magazines, each one a tiny, wearable collage.

In our collaboration, Tamsin used Wallace Sewell fabric straight from the loom, unwashed and unpressed, so the textures, threads, and movement of the weave remained clearly visible within the acrylic. This raw quality brought a unique depth and tactility to the jewellery, celebrating the fabric in its most immediate form.

Luisa Cevese - Purses

The Riedizioni collection by Luisa Cevese is made out of a unique material that combines textile remnants with polyurethane. Wallace Sewell are always excited to collaborate with Luisa, as her designs recycle the woven selvedges from our scarves and throws, to create these beautiful accessories.

Inspired by Wallace Sewell’s signature lambswool scarves, the partnership began when an ABC buyer was captivated by their intricate patterns and rich colour palettes.
