The Standard Hotel - Bespoke Bedspreads
The Standard opened their first UK hotel at Kings Cross, London. This bespoke commission was an exciting project to be part of, as The Standard are renowned for their modern, stylish interior design. The Kings Cross hotel decor is rich and colourful with geometric details and a 1970s influence; the overall impression is fun, bold and playful, with a sophisticated and unique aesthetic.
Megaro Hotel - Bespoke Bedspreads
Inspired by Wallace Sewell’s signature chenille patchwork throws, the Megaro Hotel commissioned them to design bespoke bedspreads and cushions for their 49 uniquely styled rooms. This collaboration sought to infuse each space with warmth, personality, and a vibrant touch of design.
Wallace Sewell drew on the rich textures and playful colours from their throw collections, creating bedspreads that were not only cosy but also visually captivating. Each piece featured a carefully curated palette, blending warm tones with intricate patterns to evoke a sense of both comfort and sophistication. The accompanying cushions echoed these designs, adding layers of texture and visual interest, further enhancing the inviting atmosphere of the hotel’s interiors.
Martinhal Resort - Bespoke Bedspreads
Following their successful collaborations on bedspreads for boutique hotels in Britain, Wallace Sewell were thrilled to be commissioned to design bedspreads for the stunning Hotel Martinhal, located at the southernmost point of Europe within a breathtaking expanse of National Park. This new hotel, standing like a sentinel overlooking the sea, provided an ideal backdrop for their creative vision.
Inspired by the coastal landscape and the elegant simplicity of fellow designer Michael Sodeau’s wicker lamp shades, Wallace Sewell crafted bedspreads that evoked the serene beauty of the surrounding environment. The design featured a harmonious palette of soft blues, tranquil sea-greens, and warm sand-gold tones, reflecting the natural elements of the coast.
The bedspreads not only enhanced the aesthetic of the hotel’s guest rooms but also created a soothing atmosphere that perfectly complemented the peaceful seaside setting. By blending contemporary design with the essence of the landscape, Wallace Sewell's work contributed to the overall charm of Hotel Martinhal, offering guests a stylish and inviting retreat.
The Zetter Hotel - Bespoke Bedspreads
The Zetter hotel, a charming boutique hotel nestled in Clerkenwell, London, commissioned Wallace Sewell to create custom bedspreads to enhance their inviting and modern rooms. This collaboration aimed to reflect the hotel’s distinctive character while providing guests with a warm and comfortable experience.
Wallace Sewell designed a bespoke bedspread collection that seamlessly complemented the hotel’s contemporary aesthetic. Crafted from luxuriously soft merino lambswool, each piece showcased a harmonious blend of colours and patterns, reflecting the creative spirit of the hotel. The tactile contrasting blanket stitch provided an elegant finishing touch, elevating the overall look and feel of the bedspreads.
In addition to the luxurious materials and thoughtful design, each bedspread featured a unique embroidered detail in one corner, adding a personal flair that made each piece feel special. This attention to detail ensured that guests would not only appreciate the beauty of their surroundings but also feel a sense of connection to the hotel’s ethos.
The Denizen (Taipei) - Bespoke Throws
The Denizen, a boutique apartment-hotel in the heart of Taipei, is designed to bring contemporary style and individuality to serviced living. Each studio is thoughtfully curated to blend aesthetics with function, ensuring ultimate convenience and comfort for guests.
Our collaboration with The Denizen began with a connection made at the BDNY show in 2019. With the hotel’s vision in mind, we worked together to create bespoke bed runners that would seamlessly complement their modern interiors. Having just launched our machine-washable cotton throw collection, they selected the Stella Nero design from our range. The colour palette perfectly aligned with their aesthetic. To suit Taipei’s warm climate, we re-wove the throws into a lighter, custom-sized bed runner, striking the ideal balance between elegance and practicality for their luxurious accommodations.
