Brand new Honeycombs

Brand new Honeycombs

October brings with it one of our favourite dates in the calendar: Wool Month. Organised each year by the Campaign for Wool, it's a month-long celebration of this remarkable natural fibre, from the farmers and shearers who work with it, to the spinners, weavers and designers, like us, who get to shape it into something new. It's a good excuse to pause and appreciate a material we rely on every day, and this year, we have something rather special to mark it with.

For Wool Month this year we're spotlighting our wool throws. Whether its our contemporary pinstripe throws, cool and classic bauhaus inspired design or rustic and edgy Shetland wool throw - there really is something for everyone!

Evolved exploration from Emma's MA

The Honeycomb throw is one of our earliest designs, developed directly from Emma's graduate studies - the design is still going strong! Emma explored combining woven structure and colour in innovative ways. The concept is that the throw is like a painting for the bed: a simple composition of large rectangles, brought to life by the honeycomb weave structure itself, so that each block of colour reads differently depending on how the light catches it or the way it's folded. Turn it over, and the reverse offers a different composition again, becoming two paintings in one throw.

Whilst our Honeycomb throws are one of our earliest designs, they are also one of our most-loved designs, woven from soft merino lambswool into a bold, reversible piece with a distinctive bouncy feel. Our iconic honeycomb throws are uniquely designed with careful consideration of weave structure, colour and proportion, creating an exceptionally soft, bouncy and reversible throw. This season, we’ve evolved the structure further to beautifully showcase the depth and intricacy of the details with three new colourways: Dolly, Mavis and Gloria.

Meet our new colourways

Mavis

A rich combination of royal and navy blue, joined by a duo of turquoise tones, one deep and rich, one softened to smoky grey. Burnt orange runs through the multicoloured warp, contrasting and complementing in equal measure.

Dolly

Hot scarlet red and fuchsia take the lead here, intermingling with the warp alongside a lighter nougat pink and intense mahogany brown, with the occasional pop of grass green.

Gloria

Vibrant bottle and grass green sit at the heart of this colourway, intermingling with pale butter yellow and aqua, with subtle touches of burnt sienna grounding the palette.
