Wallace Sewell x ReWeave at London Craft Week

One of our core values at Wallace Sewell is to manufacture as responsibly as possible. This takes many forms, from only working within the UK to designing thoughtfully across collections using common warps, using recycled and recyclable packaging and where possible, weaving to order to minimise deadstock.

Over the years, we’ve worked hard to reduce waste and always design with longevity in mind. We also know that even the smallest offcut can hold creative potential, and that’s why we’re so excited to share our latest collaboration: a new cushion collection created with ReWeave, launching as part of London Craft Week 2025.

Led by textile designer and innovator Kirsty McDougall, ReWeave is not just a studio, it’s an ideas factory. With over 18 years in textile design, Kirsty is a talented and creative designer, but she doesn't stop there! She is driven by a deep commitment to make real, systemic change within the industry. Her work spans couture, high fashion, interiors, and manufacturing consultancy - think Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren Home, Marc Jacobs and McQueen - but alongside this runs a passion for experimentation, sustainability, and collaboration.

Having co-founded both Dashing Tweeds and Rare Thread, and taught extensively (including running the Weave Department at the Royal College of Art), Kirsty understands the intricacies of the textile world, from the handwoven to the industrial, from concept to production. Through ReWeave, she channels this experience into finding scalable, circular solutions to one of the fashion and textiles industry’s biggest challenges: fabric waste.

ReWeave doesn’t just tick the sustainability box. It’s about research-led, creative reuse: reimagining offcuts not as leftovers, but as raw material for new ideas. This is where our paths naturally aligned.

Over the past year, we’ve been working with Kirsty and her team to rework Wallace Sewell wool offcuts into something completely new. Using a large-scale needle-felting machine, the remnants have been turned into rich, tactile fabric panels, that are then sewn into cushions. Each one is unique, reflecting the variations of colour and weave from our signature designs, but the process is replicable, meaning this isn’t a one-off. It’s a retail collection that can grow on demand.

The cushions are both practical and beautiful, proof that sustainability and good design can go hand in hand. They represent a shared belief between our teams: that circularity doesn’t mean compromise, and that production offcuts are far too precious to be discarded.

Launching at London Craft Week

We’re proud to be part of London Craft Week 2025, a celebration of exceptional British and international creativity, bringing together over 1000 makers, designers, brands, and galleries. From 12 - 18 May, our London shop will showcase the full cushion collection, alongside a mini-exhibition telling the story behind the project.
