St Moritz Tobogganing Club - Bespoke Throw

The Cresta Run, located in the picturesque town of St. Moritz, Switzerland, is a legendary ice track celebrated for its thrilling skeleton and toboggan runs. Carved into the natural ice of the valley, this historic course has captivated daredevils since the late 19th century. With its rich heritage and adrenaline-pumping excitement, the Cresta Run is an iconic destination for winter thrill-seekers.

Founded in 1887, three years after the Cresta Run, the St. Moritz Tobogganing Club (SMTC) maintained a strong relationship with the town and was a significant driver of winter tourism. Wallace Sewell was commissioned by SMTC to design bespoke throws for their cosy clubhouse—a place for guests to unwind after a day on the slopes.

Drawing inspiration from the club’s logo, the design featured a repeated graphic with angular fonts evoking mountain peaks, complemented by crisp alpine white against deep blue. The tactile border incorporated the club’s brand colours of red and gold with visible blanket stitches. Woven in a jacquard style for added depth and warmth, the throws showcase a paler version on the reverse side. At a generous 160 x 180 cm, they are perfect for snuggling, providing ample space for companions to join in the comfort.
