Meet the Neighbours: A Guide to Amwell Street’s Finest
We love our neighbourhood in North London, and although we have been here for 23 years, this area has attracted progressive thinkers and innovative businesses for centuries!
The charming streets of Islington and Clerkenwell, feature rows of Georgian terraces and quiet garden squares which offer a peaceful escape from the city's bustle. Nestled in the triangle between Angel, King's Cross, and Clerkenwell lies our home: Amwell Street.
Our studio sits on the corner of Lloyd Baker Street, a junction steeped in nearly two centuries of history. This year is particularly special as we look forward to the Amwell 200 celebrations, marking the bicentenary of the architecture and community that have shaped this area since the 1820s. From the iconic 'pedimented villas' of the Lloyd Baker Estate to landmarks like Lloyd's Dairy (established in 1905 and just recently restored as a new shop), the neighbourhood remains a rare gem once described in the press as "packed with bags of atmosphere" so let us show you around...
