Summertime Silks
Just in time for August and summer holidays, our popular Printed Silk Scarves
have just been restocked – and we’ve added a brand-new style featuring two
beautiful, original painted compositions!
The new slender oblong scarf is designed to work much like a summer tippet.
They offer all the painterly details of our larger squares, but with a lighter,
streamlined fit that avoids any bulk around the neck during warmer weather.
Digitally printed on silk crepe de chine for a luxurious drape and subtle sheen
that almost illuminates the painted brushstrokes on each design. Silk is a
wonderful natural fibre for warmer days and effortless seasonal transitions.
Light and breathable for summer, the extra layer can comfortably slip into your
jacket pocket for those "just in case" moments throughout autumn and spring.

Painted in Scotland: The Story Behind the New Shapes
Alongside a full restock of our favourite silk squares, our brand new designs
and shape add fresh options to the collection!
The two new designs, Dice and Lattice, started life as hand-painted artwork
created by Emma over Easter while travelling between Edinburgh and New
Galloway.
Here is how Emma describes the inspiration behind them:
'I painted the two designs in tandem whilst staying with family in Edinburgh
and deepest New Galloway. Influences creep in from the environment we find
ourselves in - I was struck by how the colours and patterns in the ‘Lattice’
design echoed the bold interior decoration in the Edinburgh flat. Whereas the
trees in the woods around me in New Galloway matched the staggered points
in the neutral ‘Dice’ design.'
That contrast between city interiors and rural woodland gives each new design
its own distinct mood, translating raw brushwork onto soft silk crepe de chine.
